Alderley Edge Hotel, on wooded slopes overlooking Cheshire's most desirable village, offers a true country house welcome. The original Elizabethan-Gothic style home, built in 1850 for one of Manchester’s wealthy industrial elite, is in keeping with many grand mansions on 'The Edge'. During the last century it has been home to a family of cotton merchants and a local doctor before being used to house American servicemen during the Second World War and then becoming a hotel.
From the hotel, you can walk onto 'The Edge' - a hilly wooded ridge with stunning views over Derbyshire and the Cheshire Plain. ‘The Edge’ has the oldest copper mines in England, going back nearly 3,000 years, and a centuries-old legend of wizardry and enchantment. Central Manchester is just 12 miles away. The airport, railway and motorway connections are all within easy reach.
The light and airy Alderley Restaurant, with panoramic views over the Cheshire plain, has three AA rosettes recognising “exceptional standards of cuisine” The individual approach to simple but imaginative cooking, is the next level in style and expertly formal but relaxed fine dining.
Apéritifs of your choice will be served.
